Wedding Photography as Art
"You’re not hiring a Wedding photographer"
"You’re inviting an artist."
About me
I’m Thinna Aniella Michelsen – a visual artist and wedding photographer based in Malta.
For me, wedding photography is not about endless albums or packages – it’s about creating timeless pieces of art that reflect your unique story.
With over 15 years of experience in staged and conceptual photography, I combine an artistic eye with the sensitivity to capture emotions, atmosphere, and meaning. Each couple is different, and I approach every wedding as a collaboration – listening to your wishes and translating them into 2-4 strong photographs that can live as art on your wall.
My style is bold, emotional, and timeless. If you’re looking for more than just documentation – if you want photographs that feel like art – I would love to work with you.

✨Why I Create Poetry-Based Images
I don’t create images to illustrate reality.
I create images to feel what hasn’t yet taken form.
My art grows out of the intuitive, the unspoken, the symbolic.
It’s not documentation – it’s emergence.
Of moods. Of transitions. Of something we’ve forgotten to listen to.
When I work with the camera, it’s like writing poetry with light and movement.
A veil in the wind. A body in surrender. A gesture left unfinished.
I’m drawn to what happens between the words – and between people.
My images are not complete until they’ve found their language.
That’s why I write texts for them.
Not as explanations – but as echoes.
As another layer of rhythm, meaning, and breath.
I create poetry-based images because I can’t not do it.
Because the image alone is rarely enough.
And because something in us longs for the whole human being:
The visual. The sensory. The wordless. The written. The felt.
He Fulfilled His Role
When we’ve fulfilled our role here on Earth,
we leave the manifested body –
and return.
He knew his love had left its mark.
That she carried more than their memories –
she carried life.
His love wasn’t meant to last,
but to transform.
Intense.
Meaningful.
Complete.
He fulfilled his role.
Not by staying –
but by letting go.
His task wasn’t to hold on,
but to ensure she could.
She survived –
with his gaze on her back and their love in her body.
She carried the story forward.
This image is not about romance.
It’s about the responsibility of love.
About giving, surrendering, passing on, and forgiving.
